Things I Learned From a 17 Year Old German Kid : A very full July Saturday in Mucke (Newsletter No. 9)

On everyone’s particular, sometimes militant preferences in music: “Some people think it’s not so good but I think it’s not so bad”

On trying new things: “Sometimes you think you hate something but when you try it you don’t mind it, some things you try over and over again but you still don’t like it.

But it’s fine also, you don’t have to care.

Like the cucumber and tomato salad that comes with kebab, I keep eating it over and over again because there must be a reason it is together, there must be a reason people like it this way, and even though I don’t love it, over time, it’s not unenjoyable.”

On being honest with yourself and being brave enough to be vulnerable*: “I like talking to people and meeting new people but I want to be able to do that without alcohol”

*It just fully clicked why Brene Brown grouped those words together. I mean I got it before, but I really get it now.
